Michael J. Schumacher presents a new work, a sound installation for 14 discreet channels, computer generated in real time. The piece has 5 sections, each with a distinct character, and the form is a non-predictable movement among them. The time spent in any one section, the order of the sections, and how the transition from one section to another is managed, are decisions made by the computer. The structural possibilities are immense, and one should allot a minimum of 1 hour of listening to get a sense of the flow of the music and its effects on the memory, the sense of time and space, and the emotional state of the listener. "Multiple Fixation" incorporates the poetry of Charles Curtis, read by the author.
